LOCTITE 272 is a red, medium viscosity, high strength anaerobic-curing threadlocking adhesive with high temperature resistance. It is designed for the permanent locking and sealing of threaded fasteners and withstands temperatures up to 450°F (232°C). The anaerobic adhesive cures when confined in the absence of air between close fitting metal surfaces and prevents loosening and leakage from shock and vibration. Typical applications include the locking and sealing of large bolts and studs.
